|Checked back into Camp
I remember Stan Heuisler very well. He was my councilor for the one year I attended camp. Before I moved away from Baltimore many years ago, I used to see him from time to time. I also clearly recall performing in a scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream as the Chink in the Wall, truncated I'm sure. I even recall a line or two.
In 1958 many campers were catching chipmunks as pets until they figured out how to chew through the lariat string! I also recall that being chosen for a canoe trip was a big deal. And I went on an overnighter. Fond memories of the slide on the tower also come to mind.
All good times.
Since then, my life has pretty conventional. College (Loyola of MD), marriage, two children. Moved to Washington, DC in 1984. Worked in commercial real estate finance until I retired in 2006. Then moved to Annapolis. Two grandchildren, one of whom I'm taking to Cooperstown next month. By the way, I also clearly remember a camp trip to the Hall of Fame. My father was an executive with Orioles then so it was particularly meaningful.
