Steve Cunningham 11/01/13 - This is from the 1936 Home Letter #8 dated August. The 1936 Home Letter was transcribed by Mac Mellor: "Mr. A. Leo Stevens with Mrs. Stevens were our guests at dinner.  Mr. Stevens brought along a basket of one of his famous balloons, "The All America", an anchor, valve, ring, and rope, of a typical balloon.  After dinner he gave us a very interesting informal talk and posed for numerous pictures and signed many autographs for the boys. Parents will remember Mr. Stevens as a pioneer in aeronautics In America.  A decade ago his exploits made headlines in all the papers in the country."

Steve Cunningham writing - Look at the size of that rope at their feet. Yoiks! And yet it's tethered to the basket by a string!!? Ballast perhaps?

John Mercer writing --Somewhere in his wonderful history Herb Pickett mentions the balloonist who so interested The Director. So here's the balloonist with The Director and trophy. What's the date?
