Herbert Pickett, Jr. writing -- The wooden 1929 Ford Station Wagon was one I drove from Baltimore loaded to the roof with camp supplies and equipment, and then back with a similar load in September two or three times. With its rather tiny brake drums, (on all four wheels, a first for Ford,) and mechanical linkage, stopping was sometimes a problem under a heavy load. In Baltimore, it was my particular vehicle. (This picture was unmarked as to time, so we can assume 1930s.)
